VVS Caters JBS Physicians Gathering

VVS recently catered a Physicians Gathering held at JBS in Ottumwa, Iowa. Carol Palacio and staff fed over 70 people during the event which served stuffed chicken breasts, pork loin, cranberry apple salad, twice baked potatoes, green beans with bacon and cheese cake for desert! The event was a success!

VVS recently helped support Tyson Foods in Amarillo, Texas to raise money and awareness for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. VVS Canteen and Tyson Foods have partnered the last two years to help JDRF in their goal to accelerate life-changing breakthroughs to cure, prevent and treat T1D and its complications. During November, look for VVS’ newest promotion: Supreme Breakfast Burritos! Weighing in at a pound and featuring premium ingredients, our newest burritos will not leave you hungry. Featuring The All American, Rancher, Chorizo and The Link, these burritos feature a wide range of proteins including steak, hickory bacon, sausage, chorizo and spiced hotlink all wrapped up inside a warm tortilla with golden brown potatoes.

JBS Cactus 5S

VVS Works on 5S Protocol at JBS in Cactus, Texas

VVS recently used 5S protocol to organize and clean some areas of their cafeteria space. VVS Site manager, Clay Blake, and District Manager, Latoya Williams, studied the 5S program through materials provided by JBS. The cafeteria also participated in a 5S fair in which different areas of the plant displayed booths showing their 5S progress. After judging of the booths took place, Clay Blake and staff’s booth came in 2nd place! Jim Lakey Reaches VVS’ Milestone – 40 Years

Jim Lakey recently reached a career milestone with VVS Canteen – 40 years of service! Jim is currently the Vice President of VVS’ Music and Games Division in Lincoln, Nebraska. With previous experience in vending and foodservice, Jim has an extensive background in all aspects of operations. Jim enjoys watching sports of all kinds and spending time with his wife Rhonda, his two children, Nathan and Ali, and two grandchildren Adyson and Bria. Sustainability 2016

Just a quick note on sustainability: Did you know VVS is on pace to recycle 47 tons of cardboard during 2016 from our main warehouse in Lincoln, Nebraska! Recycling in that amount provides much needed relief to area landfills.
