Nancy Munoz Celebrates 15 Years!

Nancy Munoz is celebrating 15 years with VVS! When she started with VVS at the cafeteria in Tyson, Amarillo, Nancy was the international/ethnic cook; she was later promoted to head cashier. She enjoys providing good customer service and interacting with the customers, as well as planning and organizing fun activities at party functions. Nancy said that she “enjoys spending time with her daughter and granddaughters”, and she loves to shop and travel. Thank you for your years of service, Nancy!

Employee Spotlight: Lindsey Comings

This edition of VVS’ Employee Spotlight features Lindsey Comings, Accounts Receivable Clerk at VVS Corporate Offices. Lindsey joined VVS four years ago, while working on her Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, which she completed with honors. Outside of work, Lindsey enjoys outdoor hobbies including ice fishing and kayaking with her fiancé, Clark. They have two dogs and are  currently planning a wedding. “I am excited to become Mrs. Johanson in April!”, Lindsey told us. Congratulations on your upcoming nuptials and thank you for all of your hard work.

Employee Spotlight: Kay Kolbo

This month’s Employee Spotlight features Kay Kolbo, Administrative Assistant-Payroll Deduct Systems in Cozad. Kay joined VVS in September 2014, after working as a transportation dispatcher and in manufacturing. She enjoys spending time with her family (husband Dirk and daughter Tess), reading, hunting and target shooting. “I will be graduating from Chadron State College in May 2017 with my bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, with a minor in Accounting,” Kay told us. She is also expecting a new addition to her family in July! Thank you for all you do for VVS, Kay, and congratulations on the new addition to your family!

VVS Canteen District Manager Michael O’Leary’s daughter, Breanna O’Leary, continues to work harder than the rest to become part of a Professional Nascar Pit Crew. In a male dominated sport, she continues to prove that effort always overcomes adversity! Employee Spotlight: Molly Rowe

This edition of our Employee Spotlight features Molly Rowe, site manager at VVS’ cafeteria at Tyson in Perry, Iowa. Molly has been in the foodservice industry for 17 years, having managed limited service hotels and owning her own catering company before joining VVS. She enjoys creating new and different food dishes for her family (husband, Brent, and 3 children), as well as taking long-distance bicycle rides. She and her husband even rode in the annual bike ride across Iowa, called Ragbrai. Molly told VVS, “One of my proudest accomplishments was catering for a wedding; the bride was Nigerian and she wanted some traditional Nigerian dishes offered. She came into my kitchen and taught me how to create these meals for the reception.” Welcome to the VVS team, Molly!

Employee Spotlight: Alisha Schau

This month’s employee spotlight features Alisha Schau, Administrative Assistant-Payroll Deduct Systems, in our Cozad office. Alisha joined VVS one and a half years ago, bringing over ten years of experience in customer service. She loves spending time with her family – husband (Mason), three children (Justin, Jake, and Jalynn), and two grandchildren (Savannah and Logan). She also enjoys attending concerts, the Chicago Cubs, and the Huskers (Go Big Red!). Welcome to the VVS team, Alisha!

VVS Staff Celebrate Milestones

VVS recently held an anniversary celebration at the Cozad Elk’s Lodge to recognize Shelley Arndt, VP of Administrative Services, and Mary Buesing, Administrative Assistant. Shelley is celebrating 30 years with VVS, and Mary is celebrating 25 years! There were approximately 40 people in attendance, including employees and their families. Congratulations, ladies, and thank you for your years of service!

Ottumwa Staff Receive Recognition

Jessica Rios, former Purchasing Specialist at JBS in Ottumwa, Iowa, recently expressed her appreciation for VVS site manager Carol Palacio and her staff. Jessica told VVS, “I have worked at the facility for nearly 18 years and have seen quite a few companies come and go as a cafeteria service. VVS, by far, is the best one we’ve ever had. Good food, good prices, and great catering services. Even in short notice they can make miracles. [I] wanted to let you guys know what great employees you have here and they deserve to be recognized.” Keep up the great work!

Marshall Kohtz

Marshall Kohtz Celebrates 25 Years

VVS League Director, Marshall Kohtz recently celebrated 25 years with VVS! Marshall has been in the amusement game industry since 1976. He manages the league department by promoting pool, dart, and other leagues for VVS. He enjoys interacting with a wide variety of people, and that every day is different. Marshall and his wife, Gail, have been married for 41 years, and they enjoy many activities together, such as fishing, biking, and sports. They have two adult children, and were blessed with their first grandchildren (one boy and one girl) this past year. “I appreciate that VVS supports what I do and has given me a job that never feels like going to work,” says Marshall. Thank you for your many years of service, Marshall!

Going Above and Beyond

VVS Site Manager, Carol Palacio, recently awarded staff for their outstanding effort and for going above and beyond what is asked of them. Amber and Dana were two employees who were recognized. Congratulations!
