VVS welcomes Matt Smith as a new District Manager, overseeing accounts in Kansas and Nebraska. He brings 35 years of experience in the foodservice industry, with 34 of those years working for Grandmother’s Restaurants in Lincoln, Nebraska. “My proudest professional experience was being part of a team that created the Lincoln Grandmother’s experience,” said Matt.
Outside of work, Matt enjoys home improvement projects, playing golf, biking, church, and spending time with family and friends. He also has a 23-year old son who is finishing up college at UNL. Welcome to the VVS team, Matt!

Carol Palacio, VVS Site Manager at JBS in Ottumwa, recently celebrated 14 years of service with VVS. Carol has worked in the foodservice industry for 26 years, and has been recognized for her strong work ethic. She grew up working in her mother’s restaurant washing dishes, and helped to keep everything clean so that customers would have a great experience. “I am very pleased to be a part of VVS,” said Carol.
When not working, Carol and her family (husband, Frank, and three grown sons) enjoy finding historic places to visit. Carol told VVS, “My proudest moments are always when all employees work together and the food that they display ‘makes one hurry up to eat’.”

VVS recently catered plant feeds at 9 Tyson Foods locations. The plant feeds were set up by Tyson Foods as a way to say “thank you” to their employees at all locations. Some of the participating sites included Dakota City, Amarillo, Logansport, Columbus Junction, Perry, Waterloo, Lexington, Sherman and Madison. Menus included everything from burritos to burgers! Richard Stam recently celebrated 5 years with VVS. As part of the IT team, Richard has become an integral part of diagnosing issues within the POS, camera and VVS’ internal systems. When not at work, Richard enjoys spending time with his wife, gardening and woodworking. Thanks for your service, Richard!
