VVS recently partnered with Tyson in Amarillo, TX, for the Chamber of Commerce BBQ Cook-Off. VVS Site Manager, Tammy Benton, and her staff grilled and served about 800 sausage wraps on the first day. On the second day of the event, they cooked up brisket, ribs and potato salad, serving over 1,000! Tammy explained that “this is a fun event that you can enjoy with family and friends.” Great job to everyone involved!
VVS recently celebrated 1 year at Tyson Foods in Sherman, Texas! The celebration, complete with a live performance by VVS’ own LaWana Coleman, was a huge success with prizes and great food for everybody!
VVS and Tyson Foods in Amarillo, Texas recently held a Grand Re-Opening of the harvest side cafeteria after a remodel at that location. In addition to it’s previous offerings, the cafeteria now has a full salad bar, digital signage and an expanded footprint to allow better flow through the cafe. Nancy Munoz is celebrating 15 years with VVS! When she started with VVS at the cafeteria in Tyson, Amarillo, Nancy was the international/ethnic cook; she was later promoted to head cashier. She enjoys providing good customer service and interacting with the customers, as well as planning and organizing fun activities at party functions. Nancy said that she “enjoys spending time with her daughter and granddaughters”, and she loves to shop and travel. Thank you for your years of service, Nancy!
VVS recently catered plant feeds at 9 Tyson Foods locations. The plant feeds were set up by Tyson Foods as a way to say “thank you” to their employees at all locations. Some of the participating sites included Dakota City, Amarillo, Logansport, Columbus Junction, Perry, Waterloo, Lexington, Sherman and Madison. Menus included everything from burritos to burgers! Tyson Foods in Lexington, Nebraska recently held a culture fair for it’s employees. Employees were encouraged to wear clothes from their native countries and setup display booths showing items that helped define their culture. VVS cooked over 1,500 hotdogs and hamburgers in support of the fair. Great job to everybody involved!
VVS recently helped support Tyson Foods in Amarillo, Texas to raise money and awareness for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. VVS Canteen and Tyson Foods have partnered the last two years to help JDRF in their goal to accelerate life-changing breakthroughs to cure, prevent and treat T1D and its complications. Tyson foods recently celebrated their Dakota City facility turning 50! VVS lent a hand by grilling hamburgers and hotdogs for the event. Tyson employees were treated to a meal, games, dancing and shirts promoting the event. Tyson President Tom Hayes, Dakota Dunes based President Steve Stouffer and Donnie King, President of North American Operations, among others, were on hand for the event. “It’s the best, biggest, and most important beef plant in the entire world,” Steve Stouffer told a cheering crowd. Congratulations Tyson, Dakota City – here’s to 50 more!
On July 7th, VVS opened its newest cafeteria at the Tyson Plant in Sherman, TX. VVS partnered with Tyson to bring a more modern and open feel to the cafeteria. New concept stations including the Fresh Grill, Cultural Cuisine, Canteen Cuisine and VIBEfresh C-Store offer customers more variety with a wide range of traditional, cultural, healthy and ethnic food options. Daily made to order options from The Fresh Grill have been a huge hit and refreshing upscale crisp salads and restaurant quality sandwiches and wraps from the VIBEFresh C-Store have been moving fast! The overall feel of the cafeteria is warm and inviting and participation has been high. Welcome to the family Tyson, Sherman!
