Employee Spotlight: Lindsey Comings

This edition of VVS’ Employee Spotlight features Lindsey Comings, Accounts Receivable Clerk at VVS Corporate Offices. Lindsey joined VVS four years ago, while working on her Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, which she completed with honors. Outside of work, Lindsey enjoys outdoor hobbies including ice fishing and kayaking with her fiancé, Clark. They have two dogs and are  currently planning a wedding. “I am excited to become Mrs. Johanson in April!”, Lindsey told us. Congratulations on your upcoming nuptials and thank you for all of your hard work.

Testing New Menu Items

In our search to bring you quality products, VVS recently tested new menu items for use in our cafeterias. VVS staff Matt Schneider (DM), John Keifer (COO) and Michaela Arndt (Procurement Manager) worked with Sysco Chef Brian Everman and National Account Executive Mark Neumayer to source new products for use in our cafeterias.

Nancy Munoz Celebrates 15 Years!

Nancy Munoz is celebrating 15 years with VVS! When she started with VVS at the cafeteria in Tyson, Amarillo, Nancy was the international/ethnic cook; she was later promoted to head cashier. She enjoys providing good customer service and interacting with the customers, as well as planning and organizing fun activities at party functions. Nancy said that she “enjoys spending time with her daughter and granddaughters”, and she loves to shop and travel. Thank you for your years of service, Nancy!

Scott Trumbley Attends NAMA Training

Scott Trumbley, VVS’ District Manager for Vending, Micro Markets, & Office Coffee Service (East Region), recently attended the North American Merchandisers Association (NAMA) training in Houston, Texas. Held on the campus of the University of Houston, the training was for leadership and management. Scott told us: “There were several tools taught on how to deal with employees and customers in a way that will allow your business to grow, prosper and become stronger.” Congratulations, Scott, on completing this training!

Cargill Dodge Perfect Attendance

Cargill Dodge Recognizes Perfect Attendance

Cargill in Dodge City, Kansas, recently recognized employees with perfect attendance, and VVS was there to cater the event. VVS Site Manager, Alisia Bravo, and her staff cooked and served steak, mashed potatoes & gravy, green beans, dinner rolls and cookies to 275 Cargill employees. The event was a big success!

Feeding the Homeless

Amarillo Faith City Mission had a record-breaking year when they fed nearly 500 homeless in December, and VVS staff was there to help. Latoya Williams (District Manager, Texas), Carol Mungia (Site Manager, Cargill Friona), and Tammy Benton (Site Manager, Tyson Amarillo) volunteered their time to help serve ham, scalloped potatoes, green bean casserole, and pecan pie. They plan to volunteer again in 2017 for the Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners. A huge “Thank You” to these ladies for helping those in need during the holiday season!

Holiday Plant Feeds 2016

Family, Friends and 40,000 Fed!

With VVS’ help, our clients and customers celebrated the holidays in November and December with over 30 plant feeds across six states. VVS employees cooked over 40,000 pounds of meat, served 55,000 slices of pie, and provided endless sides and drinks. Numerous staff meetings across various departments were essential to ensure all of our clients were taken care of. Thank you to all of our clients and everyone who had a hand in making the holidays great!
